If You Knew You Were

Seeing Jesus Tomorrow?

            Now there’s a question for you.  It’s one that came to me earlier tonight while I was watching the Glenn Beck Show.  He said something about if half of the country didn’t care about curing diseases then Jesus better come get him now.  And, I thought how wonderful that would be if that were to happen.

            From there it took the natural path of whether I was really ready to see Christ.  Now I think I am, but that is not something I could have always said.  And I can remember days when I would most assuredly not have been ready to see our Lord the next day.  The only reason I don’t regret those days is because those days helped to make me who I am, and strengthen my devotion to the Lord.

            Now, with things the way they are in the world today, that is a thought we should live with every day, and do accordingly.  Live each life with the fullness of the knowledge that Christ could be coming tomorrow in everything that you do and go to bed each night with the belief that you’re ready to see Jesus if He calls you home tomorrow.

 When you see a little child crying do you stop and comfort them and try to help or do you walk away?  You could be tending to the needs of an angel or you could be walking away from one.  You never know when you might get to the Lord’s work in a big way, but there are always little ways to do it.  Helping up a child who has fallen and skinned a knee would be but one of many ways to do God’s work through little things.  It is no less than Jesus himself would do. 

            Each morning when we get up we should begin the day with one question in our hearts.  That question should be something like: ‘What can I do today to be ready to see Jesus tomorrow?’, and then as the day goes by do God’s work as often as you can.

            Let’s all be ready to see Jesus, tonight, tomorrow, next week, or in the next five minutes.  We won’t know when but that’s one trip I want to be ready for.
