My Morning Coffee

This morning I was reading the news from the internet and found where the city of Oak Lawn, IL has banned any recognition of Christmas from all of its schools. This was prompted by one complaint from a Muslim woman who had a child in one of their schools. I can not believe this has happened in the United Stated of America. Our country was founded on Christian principles that have created the strongest nation on the planet and when something as wrong as making it illegal to mention the true meaning of Christmas to children in school is allowed, how can we expect our nation to continue to grow and prosper. I am reading where the liberal movement represented by organizations like MoveOn.org is attempting to neuter America’s morality and create a generation of people who believe in nothing but themselves.

I know this happened in Illinois but how long will it be before we as Texans are faced with the same situation? I hold pride in thinking that Texans will not bend to such an attack on our moral fiber and that as Texans we would stand firm while planting a boot square in the seat of any movement suggesting such actions. I am not saying we shouldn’t tolerate other religious views but to allow a tiny minority make the rules for the majority is not what our Constitution allows. More than 80% of our population according to recent polls believe in God not one of the multitude of alternative deities offered around the world. It is time for the 80% majority to stand up for what is right and stop being weak when it comes to decisions of this nature.

It is time for all Americans to get involved in fighting for what our Founding Fathers gave us in our Constitution and stop letting our elected officials add their interpretation of the Constitution to the laws being created. The Constitution does not need further interpretations, it is pretty darned clear in what it says. The 2008 Election will be a deciding factor in the direction this country travels and it is up to us to be its guide. Do we allow the Liberal mindset to take control of our future and lead us even farther to the left than we went in the 90’s or do we set in place a strong morals based leader who will lead us in the direction our Founding Fathers intended for this great nation.
