I keep hearing people arguing about the economy of this country and how each side claims they are doing what is right for the American people.

How can the Democrats claim to be looking out for the average American when they consistently vote against tax cuts for us?  In other words, they believe that although you are the one who is working day in and day out to make a living for your family, they are the ones who should get the money, not you.  The Republicans, on the other hand, with a few exceptions, believe that you should get to keep more of your hard earned money and vote for the tax cuts.

How does the government getting more of your money help you or the economy?  It doesn’t.  All it helps is their ability to spend more money without raising the national debt.  How right is that?

How can people say that this country has a bad economy when over five million jobs have been created and the unemployment rate is so low?  People are paying out less of their money to the government, which may not make them happy, but with all the people working that wouldn’t be otherwise that should still be more money in the coffers for the government to spend on their trips and their other expenditures that we can’t afford due to their taxes.

Now, I hear Ted Kennedy and his cohorts calling for a higher minimum wage.  I guess they are so miserable that more people are working that they had to find a way to put an end to that and mess up the economy with higher unemployment as well.

They don’t care what it does to you.  What they care about is what it does to President Bush and the Republican Party.  They want to make them look bad, no matter what it takes, and if they have to cost you and your family the income you bring in to do it, they won’t bat an eye.  You see, the Republicans know what raising the minimum wage does to the working class, as do the Democrats.  The difference is the Republicans care if you lose your job.  They know that a little is better than none at all, no matter how you look at it.

The way to get a raise in pay is to work for it, not expect the government to make it happen.  The only thing they can promise you is a place in the unemployment line where you will only receive seventy percent of the little you’d get if you were working, until unemployment runs out and leaves you with nothing but a strong desire to feed your family and pay your rent.

Think hard, you have until November to decide.  Which would you rather have, a little or none?  The choice is yours and your vote will decide.  If you vote Democrat in November when you lose your job, the only one you have to blame is yourself.
