I look at the title of this article and I wonder how far things have gone when our own Department of Homeland Security would issue a report to all law enforcement agencies calling conservatives and veterans "extremists" and threats to national security just because we disagree with her and Obama on the issues.

Since when did it become a crime to disagree with your President? It certainly wasn’t the case over the last 8 years or we wouldn’t have had to listen to the constant attacks on President Bush.

So, what makes Napolitano think that ostracizing such a large part of Americans is going to help this administration? Do you think their plan is to make it illegal to disagree with the usurper presently holding the office of the President? Something tells me that won’t work because they have obviously forgotten one thing the rest of us haven’t—the United States of America is a nation comprised of people who are willing to fight for freedom! And the best part is that in this case we can win the fight without firing a shot. All we have to do is exercise our right to vote and replace them—then we have won.

I have to say I was surprised by her report, though I feel I shouldn’t have been. I honestly thought there was nothing Obama and his band of thieves could surprise me with and it bothers me that I was wrong. I sincerely hope there is nothing else ahead that surprises me, or the rest of us, for we can’t afford this kind of thing being the norm.

After all, have you heard what, in her opinion, now comprises an extremist: She considers those of us who she perceives as being the sole attendants at the Tea Parties as being a threat to the very nation we were out there protesting to save. Where does that make sense? If you oppose the Obama administration, and her, on abortion, illegal immigration, high taxes, government bailouts, gun control or gay marriage then, according to the report she put out, you are now an extremist. Notice that I did say "OR" not "AND" because she didn’t either as she stressed the possibility of "single issue" extremists—I guess that was done in order to include Democrats who are tired of high taxes and don’t want socialism and the Independents who were there as well.

And for this she offers no apology, but rather wrote this in a statement released by her department, "Let me be very clear: We monitor the risks of violent extremism taking root here in the United States. We don't have the luxury of focusing our efforts on one group; we must protect the country from terrorism whether foreign or homegrown and regardless of the ideology that motivates its violence." She considered our Tea Parties a threat to this nation! Did she not catch on to the fact that we were singing patriotic songs and saying how much we love our country? I’m sure she is aware as, according to information I read on Newsmax.com, she sent the FBI out there to watch us and see who we are and what we are doing. Of course this from the woman who says that sneaking into our country illegally isn’t really a crime! And yes, she did do that during an interview on CNN.

They aren’t working this hard on dealing with any possible terror cells that might be in this country, heck she even had the audacity to call terror attacks such as 9-11 "man-made disasters"! Does that phrase explain what happened on 9-11? What is wrong with calling a spade a spade? Or does it offend our government to call a terrorist a terrorist while our president (or rather the usurper in that office) is overseas bowing to the same man the terrorists do—the Saudi King?

Whatever the reason one thing is crystal clear—the American people can do only one thing where it comes to Napolitano and her ilk—we need to call for her resignation, effective immediately—and all of her little friends need to be voted out of office at the first opportunity. We can start with her by joining the fight out there to get her fired—the American people deserve someone who is actually trying to protect them from real threats, not political disagreement. I wonder if maybe Obama can get her a job where she might fit in better—in Saudi Arabia or Iran maybe.

This Fiday night we will be talking with Ralph Benko during the 2nd segment from 11 until midnight eastern. Ralph is the author of "The Websters' Dictionary". Download your free copy today. http://www.thewebstersdictionary.com/

The Websters' Dictionary shows you how the big success stories in Web advocacy -- groups like MoveOn.org and Heritage.org, starting from very little achieved such massive success. And how you can, too.

This book lays it out from the basic to the sophisticated:

How to get a domain name (and what domain name to pick).

How to create a great website ... or select someone to do it for you.

What kind of site will let you use the power of Web 2.0 at the lowest possible cost.

What style gives you impact? What content works?

How much should you be prepared to spend?

What kind of team you need?

Best practices. Briefly, clearly, picturesquely and accurately stated.

This is the dawning of the Age of the Internet. Be part of it. Become a Webster -- an activist, an operative, or a wonk who uses the Web to transform the world.

BIO

Ralph Benko combines the best qualities of geek (fascination with technology, reads Wired Magazine) and wonk (immersion in the policy/advocacy process, reads Politico) with the ability to help normal people harness both. He is a principal of Capital City Partners, LLC of Washington DC, a respected public affairs firm. Benko founded the Prosperity Caucus gathering of supply-side and free-market economists; served on detail as a minor official in the White House under President Reagan; and is a populist conservative Republican (although some of his best friends are liberal Democrats). He speaks frequently on highly effective Web design, development, and management practices.

Because of his long fascination with all things Internet he is popularly known as "the Webster."

Join us as we talk about how to harness the power of the Internet.

www.blogtalkradio.com/patriotsheartnetwork

How does it feel to be a part of history?!

We are all here exercising our 1st Amendment Right to Free Speech as well as the Right to Peaceably Assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
And let me tell ya’ folks, I have some grievances to redress.

For the past two decades our elected officials have spent more money than they had to spend which as of September 24, 2008 had us at 9.7 trillion dollars in debt. Now just 7 months later they have spent an additional 3 trillion dollars and have taken that number to more than 11 trillion dollars in debt. Instead of taking the path of fiscal responsibility and learning from their past mistakes, they have taken on the attitude of an irresponsible child with their first bank account. That attitude says, “I can’t Be Broke---I still have checks left”. Now they have passed a new budget that will leave us more than 21 trillion dollars in debt in less than 5 years. This debt is unsustainable; the interest payments alone will be higher than the total tax dollars collected by the IRS.

This will bankrupt the United States of America and I say “No---Not on my watch”

Most people can not imagine how much money a trillion dollars is. Two weeks ago on our Make-A-Statement Radio Show we had General Jim Cash on as our guest. During the show, the General gave an example of just how much money a trillion dollars really is. He said:
You can take a million dollars in 100 dollar bills and fit it into a box 1 and a half foot by 1 and a half foot by 1 and a half foot or 1.5 cubic feet. You could probably fir a million dollars on your person stuffed here and there. You could stack a billion dollars in 100 dollar bills six feet tall into a small bedroom. Ok Folks, this is a little disturbing but a trillion dollars in 100 dollar bills stacked 6 feet tall would cover a half acre of land. The budget that just passed will cover almost two acres of land in 100 dollar bills.

Now let’s look at this, a huge portion of this money is going to people who would rather sit home and watch Oprah or Dr Phil than go to work. Another huge portion is going to people who don’t even belong in this country but our government chooses to support them. And yet another huge portion will be given to countless special interest groups like ACORN who have committed fraud upon the American People time and time again.

And people ask me why I am so mad about what is happening….Go Figure.

Now I want to take a look at the so called stimulus disaster. What did they do? Did they all sit down over drinks and come up with a plan? I can see it….They are all sitting around….it’s kinda quiet…one of them mentions something about the United Nations….then all of the sudden, a light shines down on them ….and in that brilliant flash the idea strikes them…. Let’s take money from the Economy then put it back into the Economy and tax it on the way through!....Yea! That should work!!

Now let me draw you another picture:
Imagine yourself standing in front of a swimming pool with a deep and a shallow end. Now imagine yourself taking a 5 gallon bucket and walking over to the deep end and scooping up a bucket of water. Now take this bucket of water and walk to the shallow end and pour the water into the shallow end. Now I want you to do this until the shallow end is as deep as the deep end. This is their plan…Oh, Wait! I forgot to tell you that on your way to the shallow end you must pour half the water into another pool called taxes and still make the shallow end match the deep end with half the water you started with. Got the picture?

1773 a small group of people sent a loud message to the King of England by dumping a boat load of Tea into the Atlantic. The message was that they were not going to continue paying Taxes to a government addicted to money. The money these men worked hard to earn. Their cry was “No Taxation without Representation”

Here we are on April 15th 2009 in Tyler Texas. What brings us here today? A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ADDICTED TO MONEY. OUR GOVERNMENT IS SPENDING MONEY OUR GRANDCHILDREN WILL STILL BE PAYING FOR. This is not the legacy I want to hand to my children, not a legacy of debt.

A very large part of what our government in Washington DC is doing today is Un-Constitutional. All of the Bailouts, Stimulus Packages, and massive spending sprees are unconstitutional. Furthermore, nowhere in our Constitution does it give our elected officials the authority to use our tax dollars to purchase or bail out any company or institution regardless of their importance to our Economy. We are not the Soviet Union, Cuba, or Red China. We are a free nation whose government is controlled by the people. Not an elite few who operate above the Constitution and care more about their position of power than the people they were elected to serve.

We stand here today united under a common cause. We have come together to send our leaders in Washington a message. That message is “Don’t Tread On Me”

Right now I am standing here not as a Republican or a Democrat. I am standing here as an American Citizen who is being taxed to death. The decisions being made today in Washington DC are directly affecting me, my children, my grandchildren, and my great grandchildren. In our government’s attempt to convert the United States of America into a Socialist Nation, they are shredding the very Freedoms our Founding Fathers gave their lives for. I for one will not sit quietly by and watch them destroy the greatest nation on planet Earth.

Our Founding Fathers’ passed down the mantle of Freedom to us and it is our responsibility to pass these same freedoms down to our future generations.

Untold thousands have given their lives for the Freedoms we hold dear and I will not allow their sacrifice to be in vein.

If Freedom Requires my voice, I will give it!
If Freedom Requires my time, I will give it!
And if the cause of Freedom demands my life, I will give it.

Our country is in big trouble and the solution is us,…”We The People”
The Change we need in Washington did not come with the last election, it can only come when the good people of the United States of America stand up and in one loud shout tell our elected officials “NO”.

I want to leave you with the words of our 20th President James A Garfield spoken in 1876.

“Now, more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature. . . . [I]f the next centennial does not find us a great nation . . . it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.”

God Bless and God Bless America

Transcript of Melissa Pehle-Hill's speech from the Tea Party in Tyler Texas.

First let me say I’m thrilled to see all of you here and I want to thank you for coming. It does my heart good to see people out here readying for the fight to regain our country.

So, how do you like the tour of Europe that Barack Obama went on? It looked like he was still campaigning, didn’t it? And that brings two questions to my mind—what is he campaigning for and why are we footing the bill? I ask these questions with the full realization that all Presidents visit foreign dignitaries after taking office, but in this case it is different. After all, all previous Presidents upon arriving in Normandy visited the graves of our fallen soldiers and he didn’t and none of them before were going around apologizing for the behavior of America, saying we are arrogant and that we don’t acknowledge the leadership role of Europe enough. Can you imagine the outrage from the Mass Media if President Bush had uttered those words in his sleep, let alone on foreign soil? Or President Clinton for that matter—considering they would actually likely know if he said it in his sleep.

And, I just have to add this before going back to talking about the misuse of our tax dollars—what do you think about our President bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia?

We must also not forget that while at the G20 conference he signed an agreement with the other nation members placing oversight of our economic institutions in the hands of an international banking group. Is that what you want? Do you want the world telling us how to do our banking and overseeing what we do financially?

These Tea Parties were planned to protest the wild spending going on in Washington by the controlling party. The Bush Administration spent a lot, but it was on national security following an attack on our homeland and whether we agree with the war in Iraq or not there is one point we must not overlook—there has not been another attack on American soil since 9-11! That said, both sides need to get this message loud and clear—you work for us, not the other way around and we are more entitled to our money than you are!

Here in Tyler, you are lucky to have a wonderful man representing you in Washington—Congressman Louie Gohmert. I wish we could clone him because he symbolizes what we need in Washington. He is an honest man who is there trying to do the job he was sent there to do—represent the people who voted for him. He is not up there voting for bills without reading them like most of the rest. He is not up there voting for an outrageous national debt that our grandchildren and great grandchildren will still be paying off. He is up there doing his job and fighting for the rest of us.

Here in Texas we are also lucky to have a governor fighting against the strings most of the other governors are simply tying their people down with. And, not only is he working for us in regards to the stimulus package overloads, he is also working to get HCR 50, written by Rep. Creighton, passed which states, in no uncertain terms that Texas is a sovereign state and not subject to complete federal control per our Tenth Amendment which states, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." We can be doubly proud with the realization that he was one of only four willing to stand up and say no to more debt for their constituents.

But they are only two. Yes there are others out there who are truly working for the people, but there are way too many others who are up there acting like they are on a spending spree with their parent’s credit card with one hand while stripping us of our freedom with the other. The corruption in Washington needs to be stopped, dead in its tracks! Any member of Congress that voted for the stimulus package needs to find themselves unemployed at the next election. No exceptions! We can’t afford to overlook it this time or we have only ourselves to blame when we get even higher taxes for decades to come, or worse case, the country going into bankruptcy.

In the supposed stimulus package our government gave $50 million to the National Endowment of the Arts, $1.8 billion to repair National Park Service facilities, $1.2 billion for "youth activities," including youth summer job programs or training camps for our kids, $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities, over $4 billion dollars for neighborhood stabilization activities, also known as ACORN and groups like it. And for all you smokers out there you ought to love this one--$75 million for "smoking cessation activities." Do you think that means the plan is to do more than raise the price on cigarettes and more like banning them? That, my friends, is not democracy at work nor the actions of the government of a free people—that is the socialist regime deciding whether we are allowed to smoke or not. Where will that end and when will the over-spending and over-taxing end?

The answer to this one is that it won’t end until we remove the controlling party from power. The agenda of the far-left is no longer simply a liberal approach to life as it once was. Now their agenda is the socialization of the United States, and they are the ones in power in the form of Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid.

We have much more to fear other than higher taxes, and crooks such as Tim Giethner being Secretary of Treasury though that one is very serious as a man who claims he made a $35,000 "mistake" is now the Secretary of Treasury over all of our money. We have Obama’s desire to redistribute wealth. As you may have figured out, from the day Obama took office, going after the American Dream is only to be done if you feel a real need to pay for the medical care of illegals and all of the rest of the pork. And that is not what our Founding Fathers intended when they wrote the Constitution.

In the Constitution, in Article 1, Section 8, our Founding Fathers said of taxes, "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, and Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States". There are no references to foreign aid, giving ACORN money, or paying medical bills for the illegal aliens rushing across our borders unabated. There was no intent to take huge chunks of our income and spend it on whatever someone thought up. In fact, the Amendment allowing Congress to levy taxes on our income wasn’t ratified until 1913 by the Taft Administration.

In regards to taxation one Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson said, "To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical." So, by his words would not the taxation we are now subjected to be tyrannical? Thomas Jefferson also clarified the job of the government when he said, "The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government." Once again we are back to the fact that they are supposed to provide for the common defense, not the common bankruptcy.

It is time for us to speak up and tell them in Washington that we aren’t going to take it anymore. And at this time also remember other words spoken by Thomas Jefferson, "I hold it that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government." That is what we are doing here, as they did with the Boston Tea Party. We are telling the powers that be that we are watching and we will not be taxed into bankruptcy, nor will we let them do that to our children and grandchildren. It is up to us to start this fight today and keep it going until those in Washington are dancing to our tune rather than us dancing to theirs.

In closing I’d like to repeat words spoken by a great man a scant 20 years ago, "If we loose this war and in so doing loose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to loose did the least to prevent its happening. But I think it’s time we ask ourselves if we still know the freedom’s intended for us by the Founding Fathers." " Whether we believe in our capacity for self government or whether we abandon the American Revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far distant Capitol can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves." Those words, ladies and gentlemen, were spoken by Ronald Reagan.

God Bless and God Bless America!

I found this post on Dick Morris's blog and could not help but comment.

On April 2, 2009, the work of July 4, 1776 was nullified at the meeting of the G-20 in London. The joint communiqué essentially announces a global economic union with uniform regulations and bylaws for all nations, including the United States. Henceforth, our SEC, Commodities Trading Commission, Federal Reserve Board and other regulators will have to march to the beat of drums pounded by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), a body of central bankers from each of the G-20 states and the European Union.

The mandate conferred on the FSB is remarkable for its scope and open-endedness. It is to set a “framework of internationally agreed high standards that a global financial system requires.” These standards are to include the extension of “regulation and oversight to all systemically important financial institutions, instruments, and markets…[including] systemically important hedge funds.”

Note the key word: “all.” If the FSB, in its international wisdom, considers an institution or company “systemically important”, it may regulate and over see it. This provision extends and internationalizes the proposals of the Obama Administration to regulate all firms, in whatever sector of the economy that it deems to be “too big to fail.” READ THE REST OF THE ARTICLE

I am still looking for supporting information before I loose my mind completely. It does look to be true, Dick Morris is pretty reliable. Every American should be screaming from their rooftop, ringing the bells, and holding up the lanterns in the bell tower. Somethings coming and it aint the British. It is much worse.....It's our own government.

The only thing that surprises me though is the speed in which it happened. My God! We are witnessing the destruction of our Homeland and are for the most part unable to do anything about it. Our government knows what is coming and from what I hear, boosted the number of American Soldiers training to deal with civil disobedience from 20,000 to 80,000 troops. This scares the crap out of me but I refuse to back down. I owe it to my kids and grandkids to pass the mantle of Freedom on to them like my parents did for me.

God Bless America, we sure need it.

David Hill

Anyone who has been married for any length of time can identify with what I am about to say.

Aside from the physical aspects, there is a distinct difference between the way men think and the way women think. Trust me on this one.

As you know, if you have been reading this for some time, we just moved into another house. I won’t bore you with a repeat of the dangers associated with making the actual move. This week I’d like to cover a few things that have happened after the move.

The first is that women seem to think about a garbage disposal the same way as a man thinks about a chipper/shredder. The one in the house we moved into was the ever popular ‘weasel’ model and is about 1/3 horsepower. Barely enough to chew up wet paper towels. My loving wife is used to the giant industrial commercial grade one I had installed in our previous house. This was the 5 horsepower (Turbo-Destructor Model 9500) with the rope pull start cord which could be used in case of emergency. You could grind up a stump or angle iron if you needed to do so. I think you had to have some sort of national security clearance just to own one.

Anyway, we hadn’t been in the new place more than a week and my bride forgot about the disposal and dropped something like a banana peel or a potato peel down and of course, it backed up. Naturally this always happens on either late Friday evening or on the weekend, when the repair guys are on quadruple overtime with mileage and bonus incentives. Fortunately for us, our youngest son is living with us until he gets married in a couple of months and he installed the new ‘Super Beaver- 1000’ model. We couldn’t get one of the old ones since they are no longer on the market after 9/11. I hope the people who bought our old house are not any sort of national security risk. But, now we are back on track and life is good once more in our happy home.

That is except for a couple of things. First off, women think nothing of moving furniture just for the shear pleasure of it. Men tend to leave things in place. My wife will actually move a couch from one wall to another for some unknown reason to me. I have never in all of my years actually considered moving all of the bedroom furniture from one place to another …. ‘Just to see how it looks’. I know how it looks, it looks fine. Leave it alone. You don’t see men moving duck and deer blinds from one place to another. Nope, they leave them in the same places, year after year. There’s a good reason for that…ask any hunter and he’ll tell you….

Second thing concerns hanging pictures. If men hang pictures, they tend to keep it simple, bang a nail into the wall and put the picture on the nail. Not so with women. They will actually ‘arrange’ pictures. They will do all sorts of measurements and then put five or six pictures on the same wall and keep them all even and level. Men cannot do this even with one of those new laser levels. Men are used to dealing with abstract concepts and shapes such as the skins from some prehistoric beast or a deer or buffalo skin. Women can handle squares and rectangles such as we see on picture frames. Men do not have this ability since in nature there are no straight lines. Another point I’d like to make, if a man hangs a picture on a wall, it stays hung there until he moves to another house or he dies, whichever comes first. My wife will actually move pictures around from place to place (see earlier comments about furniture). She doesn’t have any credible explanation for this kind of behavior and after you have been married as long as I have then you know better than to ask why she is doing what she is doing. If your wife engages in this kind of activity and asks you if you think the pictures look nice, I suggest you agree with her.

One final thought for you young men about to married for the first time, do not under any circumstances suggest something along the lines of… "Honey I think that picture would look good on that wall". If you do this, do so at your own risk since she will assume you like to move furniture and you enjoy doing it. You will thank me for this advice many years from now.

Comments go to pperry@austin.rr.com

I want to thank General Vallely for allowing us to republish this letter. I am proud of the General and others like him who are not afraid to say what is on their mind. In this world of political correctness, people are too worried about offending someone to speak clearly. It is time for those of us who love our country to set aside the politically correct mentality and start speaking out against the atrocities being thrown at us from the Left. David A Hill

Morality and Intellectual Elitists Do Not Mix Well in Today’s Cultural Society! by Gen. Paul Vallely

“One of the main reasons confronting the solution to problems that we face today personally and politically is almost entirely due to a lack of common sense, psychological impediments to a clear value and tradition system, clear thinking, lack of personal discipline and self-control or some combination of all these. We know it is not because of the lack of brain power in our society.

The fact is that many times the smartest and best educated (where are elitism seems to roost) in our society make things much worse. Intellectuals (those, of course with Graduate and Doctor’s degrees) have among the worst record on the moral issues of the past century. You can see them articulate their liberal views daily on television and radio interviews, and in their writings and teachings in our schools.

How many times have we heard today about our children and other offsprings being so bright and going off to the best schools and universities in the country or traveling abroad. We are proud when they go off to prestigious schools. There is certainly much preoccupation with this elite intellectual thrust placed upon our children mostly by parents.

The 2008-2009 economic decline was brought about by people in the financial/Wall Street/Government sectors widely regarded as “brilliant”, As it turns out, many of them are complete “dummies”, amoral, incompetent and maybe all three. There is an apparent lack of common sense that prevails in this crowd. We sit back and watch and wonder to our ourselves, “How did we (America) get here from there.” Had we hit the “snooze button?” The elitist have enjoyed splitting the people between “us” and “them”. Certainly that is very apparent in Washington. We have become a morally bankrupt society making decisions not based on our Constitution, the moral values and traditions that built this country. Certainly not based on “Common Sense and Values”.

God Bless those today that have common sense and values. Their destiny is to Stand Up for America and pursue a future based on a solid foundation of morally decent people.”

After all the warnings, hand wringing, and savage talk, America chose to do what would never be thought possible only a few years ago---elect a far-left President and Congress hell-bent on "CHANGING" this country into a Socialist State. Sometimes, I wonder how many Americans understand what this really means. My thoughts initially were to give the new President a chance, and not make snap decisions based on out-of-control rhetoric during the campaign. Well, that worked well, and now we are beginning to see that the President is doing exactly what he promised during the campaign, and NO ONE LISTENED!!! The masses were overwhelmed with silver-tongued, no-logic promises that most knew could never be fulfilled.

Soon, the American people will have witnessed enough of this madness. They are a smart lot, and when they have seen enough they will start to ask the big question, "WHAT HAVE WE DONE"? However, the real question will be, "IS IT TOO LATE"?

I do not wish to dwell on the multitude of mistakes that have already been made during the first 60 days of this administration, both foreign and domestic. It must be obvious even to the fiscally irresponsible far-left that the nation is heading unimpeded toward bankruptcy. We hear the President speak often of the deficit. He is not talking about the national debt. He is talking about the rate in which we are increasing the debt. So when he says he will cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term, he is actually saying he will cut the rate at which the debt is increasing by the end of his first term. That is absolutely not good enough. Even Bill Clinton, with the help of a Republican Congress, showed a surplus in deficit spending for a short period. That is accomplished only when you have a growing economy. Now equate that to our economic situation today, and it is obvious this is just another fabrication conjured up by this administration. AMERICANS WAKE UP before it is too late. It is highly probably that the debt is not repayable even as we speak, and it is growing at the most alarming rate in history. Just the annual interest on the current debt is larger than our annual military budget.

Even more frightening is the fact that the President and his cross-party impaired Secretary of Defense have decided to reduce the capability of our military by cutting funding for many badly needed weapon systems, which were designed to replace old and worn out existing systems. The US Air Force F-22 comes to mind. A bird designed to provide Air Superiority for the next 50 years. The initial contract for this system was for near 700 aircraft. It has been cut to 183 now, and possible even will be ended early. Thank you far-left politicians, as your timing is great. Again, as during the Jimmy Carter years, you are cutting our military in favor of increasing welfare and social programs. At least when Jimmy Carter did his infamous magic act, we were not facing a major threat. However, today we face the most serious threat to this nation since WWII. For goodness sake, what part of this does Obama, Clinton, Pelosi, Reed, Schumer, Murtha, Kerry, Durbin, Maxine, Waxman, Boxer, Feinstein, (and on and on), not understand.

Now, here is a strange, new thought. Why not put a large portion of that stimulus money toward expanding and equipping our military. Many good folks who were there will tell you that the Great Depression was ended because of our war production preparing to enter WWII, not the mumbling and bungling of FDR. I believe this to be true, so why not kill several birds with one stone. Why not stimulate the economy by rebuilding/expanding the greatest institution in this country, our US Military. At the same time we would be rebuilding deterrence capable of defeating conventional enemies on two fronts without stressing our forces, as our civilian-leader-developed doctrine has dictated throughout the history of this nation. Why not rebuild an infrastructure capable of producing again, save the auto manufacturing capability and put people back to work. Was it Ronald Reagan who said, "There has never been a nation attacked because it was too strong"? And, oh by the way, talking to, and appeasing Middle-East terrorist---please give me a break!!! These are complex times, but they warrant simple answers that work. It will be fun to watch the far-left spin this one, as their lame brained approach continues to fail!

Conservatives out number the far-left by large numbers, and I realize I am preaching to the choir. I spent the majority of my adult life wearing the uniform of this country, and I still bear allegiance to the oath I took many years ago to "defend this nation against all enemies, both foreign and domestic". That is why I continue to utter phrases such as, "How many times have you heard the phrase, AMERICA WAKE UP"??? Well, it is time for AMERICA TO WAKE UP, before the dream has ended. There was a lot of prepping and planning over a long period of time to get us to the devilish point we are at today, and it will take serious thought and effort if we are to reverse it. Because conservatives have the numbers, it is possible to turn this around, but they must wake up and act. I am absolutely sure there are some good clear-thinking Democrats out there who feel the same. Together, with our combined power of the vote, we can fix this, and the parties can begin to work together again for the benefit of this great nation.

Let’s take it one step at a time. First, it is imperative that we restore some form of check-and-balance to our government. Again, I know there are many great Democrats and Republicans out there who understand the problem, and want to restore this country to its path of greatness. I am neither, but I am a conservative who understands the danger of any political party possessing a majority in all three branches of government. A one-party system is simply a dictatorship. The overwhelming threat today is that the controlling party is a well financed, far-left, Socialist group who have gained control of the Democratic Party. It is so essential that the people, both Democrat and Republican, take a close look at what is happening. This movement can be brought to a crawl, or maybe even stopped, simply by real Americans going to the polls and casting a sensible vote. This next election cycle is crucial to the future of America. Common sense must prevail!!! It will go against all odds, but achieving a majority in the US Senate by the Republican Party is the only way to restore the common-sensed check-and-balance system that has made this country great. If the roles were reversed, and the Republicans Party was dominant, the same would be true.

In summary, the solution for the short term is simple. Clear thinking Democrats and Republicans, both, have a duty to do what is right for America. They should band together to create a Congress that represents all the people, that is accepting of new ideas and listens to the people. With the current crop of self-indulgent politicians in Washington today, it is impossible to adopt "term limits", which are part of the long term solution. However, it is possible to vote for more equity in maintaining a true two-party system. So, if you are beginning to question what is happening to our country under the current administration, and on the fence about what can be done, make the question of maintaining a viable the two-party system a major consideration when casting your vote in the next election. THE FUTURE OF OUR KIDS DEPENDS UPON IT!!!!

Jim Cash, Brig Gen, USAF Ret. Bigfork, MT

Well, you have to give Barack Obama credit for one thing.

No other president that I know of in history has managed to screw up so much in such a short period of time. He is the champion.

Where to start?

How about his screw up with the teleprompter (you know that device he uses whenever his mouth moves) when the Irish Premier was in town. The Irish Premier got confused reading from the teleprompter and Obama stepped in to help out. Lots have been written about who said what and so forth. I suppose my question is simply this….when will we ever see Obama WITHOUT a teleprompter? Last nights news conference showed that he is obviously aware of the fact that everyone knows he is dependent on this device. Last night he moved (not very effectively) the teleprompter from a desk model to one about the size of a drive in movie screen at the back of the room….see http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2009/03/24/obama-ditches-teleprompter-for-drive-in-theater-movie-screen/

Anyone recall what he did to Gordon Brown (UK Prime Minister) when he was here a few weeks ago? Generally the two heads of state exchange gifts that have some meaning. Brown brought Obama a pen made from the wood of a ship that had historical meaning. Obama gave Brown 25 DVD’s of American movies. Wow…. is this significant or what? As if Brown could not afford to buy these for himself. A gift from Walmart. How touching. I’m certain old Gordon will hang onto those for years to come. What was the historical significance of DVD movies to one of our strongest allies? What about his removal of the statue of Churchill from the Oval office and its return to England? If he didn’t want it in his office, why not just put it somewhere else but not send it back as if was an abomination to him? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/22/obama-returns-churchill-b_n_168919.html

Last week one of the Polish ministers took Rep. Ellen Tauscher, D-Calif. To task for the United States reluctance to honor a missile treaty that had been signed last year. See http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/24/clinton-seeks-reassure-poland-missile-shield/

for details. It seems the current administration has decided that the US might not go along with its previous plans for the deployment of missiles in Poland. Of course the fact that an agreement and a treaty was signed apparently has little meaning to our new president. The Polish minister was quoted as saying their country did not trust the United States to live up to their obligations. Way to go, Team Obama.

Next up is Mexico. As we know their economy is not in the best of shape and anything to disrupt their current efforts only makes the ever increasing drug cartels stronger. But no matter that the United States signed a agreement called NAFTA some years ago to promote trade, our man Obama is once again Johnny-on-the-spot in declaring parts of the agreement to be anti-labor unions in the US. So, what does Mexico do? Well, they retaliate by slapping us with tariffs on importation of our products. Boy, does this make a lot of sense? Of course Obama has to dance with the one who brought him and I’m certain the teamsters are sending notes to his Blackberry right and left.

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1887494,00.html

How can I forget Canada? Obama’s advisor, Larry Summers states that ‘I hope he (Obama) doesn’t believe what he says’.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0309/Summers_hoped_Obama_doesnt_believe_what_he_says_on_NAFTA.html

Say what? One of your closest advisors is hoping you don’t really believe what you are saying? I’m sorry; I must be missing something here. If you are the leader of the greatest super power on our planet, shouldn’t people take you serious when you say something? Isn’t part of your job description your ability to be believed when you say something? What do you think would have happened in 1940 if FDR had told the French and the British that ‘we are here to help’ and then changed his mind later and said something like… ‘I was only kidding’ you guys go on ahead and fight Hitler by yourself.

I am running out of time and have to finish up by referring to Obama and his ever increasing adversarial roles with France, Germany, Russia and oh, yes… China. When the French start lecturing us (The US) on how to CUT taxes and improve the business community, you know the world has indeed gone mad. The upcoming G20 summit should be an opportunity for those more in tune with reality to upstage Obama’s quest for ‘entertainer of the year’.

http://seekingalpha.com/article/127764-some-thoughts-ahead-of-the-g20-summit

Stayed tuned, interesting days we live in.

http://www.pearyperry.com
