All Texan's Must Act Now! M.P. Hill

To All Texans

If you love your state, love your country, and love being able to spend your money on what you are your family need rather than paying people to sit on the couch and watch TV, then read on.

Right now our Governor is leading the fight for each and every citizen in this great State of Texas to not end up paying half of their income in taxes due to the stimulus package.  He is inspiring others to follow him and to look closer at what the supposed stimulus package really is.  And he’s making it clear to the rest of the country what a governor is supposed to do—fight to protect his people, even from higher taxes.

However, our Senate is fighting against him on the unemployment portion of the stimulus funds.  They passed a bill to go around the wishes of Governor Perry and take those funds any way.  This bill is now in the House.  WE MUST CALL OUR REPRESENTATIVES NOW!!!

They need to know that we don’t want to take additional funds from the Fed that will lock us into higher taxes for the duration, long after the federal funds are gone.  They need to know that the people don’t want higher taxes in this state.  They need to know that we don’t want to join the rest of the nation in being taxed into poverty and bankruptcy.  They need to know we support the Governor on this venture and that a vote against him is a vote against the citizens of Texas and they will be the ones finding themselves in the unemployment line in 2010.

Go to http://www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us/mnuAddress.aspx and find out who represents you then call them and let them know where you stand and that if they want to keep their job they will do it the way we the people of Texas tell them to.

Conservatives and Veterans Considered Extremists. by Melissa Pehle-Hill

I look at the title of this article and I wonder how far things have gone when our own Department of Homeland Security would issue a report to all law enforcement agencies calling conservatives and veterans "extremists" and threats to national security just because we disagree with her and Obama on the issues.

Since when did it become a crime to disagree with your President? It certainly wasn’t the case over the last 8 years or we wouldn’t have had to listen to the constant attacks on President Bush.

So, what makes Napolitano think that ostracizing such a large part of Americans is going to help this administration? Do you think their plan is to make it illegal to disagree with the usurper presently holding the office of the President? Something tells me that won’t work because they have obviously forgotten one thing the rest of us haven’t—the United States of America is a nation comprised of people who are willing to fight for freedom! And the best part is that in this case we can win the fight without firing a shot. All we have to do is exercise our right to vote and replace them—then we have won.

Melissa Pehle-Hill Tea Party Speech Transcript

Transcript of Melissa Pehle-Hill's speech from the Tea Party in Tyler Texas.

First let me say I’m thrilled to see all of you here and I want to thank you for coming. It does my heart good to see people out here readying for the fight to regain our country.

So, how do you like the tour of Europe that Barack Obama went on? It looked like he was still campaigning, didn’t it? And that brings two questions to my mind—what is he campaigning for and why are we footing the bill? I ask these questions with the full realization that all Presidents visit foreign dignitaries after taking office, but in this case it is different. After all, all previous Presidents upon arriving in Normandy visited the graves of our fallen soldiers and he didn’t and none of them before were going around apologizing for the behavior of America, saying we are arrogant and that we don’t acknowledge the leadership role of Europe enough. Can you imagine the outrage from the Mass Media if President Bush had uttered those words in his sleep, let alone on foreign soil? Or President Clinton for that matter—considering they would actually likely know if he said it in his sleep.

And, I just have to add this before going back to talking about the misuse of our tax dollars—what do you think about our President bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia?

RE: The Declaration of Independence Has Been Repealed

I found this post on Dick Morris's blog and could not help but comment.

On April 2, 2009, the work of July 4, 1776 was nullified at the meeting of the G-20 in London. The joint communiqué essentially announces a global economic union with uniform regulations and bylaws for all nations, including the United States. Henceforth, our SEC, Commodities Trading Commission, Federal Reserve Board and other regulators will have to march to the beat of drums pounded by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), a body of central bankers from each of the G-20 states and the European Union.

The mandate conferred on the FSB is remarkable for its scope and open-endedness. It is to set a “framework of internationally agreed high standards that a global financial system requires.” These standards are to include the extension of “regulation and oversight to all systemically important financial institutions, instruments, and markets…[including] systemically important hedge funds.”

Morality and Intellectual Elitists Do Not Mix Well in Today’s Cultural Society! Gen. Paul Vallely

I want to thank General Vallely for allowing us to republish this letter. I am proud of the General and others like him who are not afraid to say what is on their mind.  In this world of political correctness, people are too worried about offending someone to speak clearly.  It is time for those of us who love our country to set aside the politically correct mentality and start speaking out against the atrocities being thrown at us from the Left.   David A Hill

Morality and Intellectual Elitists Do Not Mix Well in Today’s Cultural Society! by Gen. Paul Vallely

“One of the main reasons confronting the solution to problems that we face today personally and politically is almost entirely due to a lack of common sense, psychological impediments to a clear value and tradition system, clear thinking, lack of personal discipline and self-control or some combination of all these. We know it is not because of the lack of brain power in our society.

The fact is that many times the smartest and best educated (where are elitism seems to roost) in our society make things much worse. Intellectuals (those, of course with Graduate and Doctor’s degrees) have among the worst record on the moral issues of the past century. You can see them articulate their liberal views daily on television and radio interviews, and in their writings and teachings in our schools.

How many times have we heard today about our children and other offsprings being so bright and going off to the best schools and universities in the country or traveling abroad. We are proud when they go off to prestigious schools. There is certainly much preoccupation with this elite intellectual thrust placed upon our children mostly by parents.

AMERICA’S NEW ANTHEM -----“WHAT HAVE WE DONE” by Gen. Jim Cash

After all the warnings, hand wringing, and savage talk, America chose to do what would never be thought possible only a few years ago---elect a far-left President and Congress hell-bent on "CHANGING" this country into a Socialist State. Sometimes, I wonder how many Americans understand what this really means. My thoughts initially were to give the new President a chance, and not make snap decisions based on out-of-control rhetoric during the campaign. Well, that worked well, and now we are beginning to see that the President is doing exactly what he promised during the campaign, and NO ONE LISTENED!!! The masses were overwhelmed with silver-tongued, no-logic promises that most knew could never be fulfilled.

Soon, the American people will have witnessed enough of this madness. They are a smart lot, and when they have seen enough they will start to ask the big question, "WHAT HAVE WE DONE"? However, the real question will be, "IS IT TOO LATE"?

I do not wish to dwell on the multitude of mistakes that have already been made during the first 60 days of this administration, both foreign and domestic. It must be obvious even to the fiscally irresponsible far-left that the nation is heading unimpeded toward bankruptcy. We hear the President speak often of the deficit. He is not talking about the national debt. He is talking about the rate in which we are increasing the debt. So when he says he will cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term, he is actually saying he will cut the rate at which the debt is increasing by the end of his first term. That is absolutely not good enough. Even Bill Clinton, with the help of a Republican Congress, showed a surplus in deficit spending for a short period. That is accomplished only when you have a growing economy. Now equate that to our economic situation today, and it is obvious this is just another fabrication conjured up by this administration. AMERICANS WAKE UP before it is too late. It is highly probably that the debt is not repayable even as we speak, and it is growing at the most alarming rate in history. Just the annual interest on the current debt is larger than our annual military budget.

A Nation of Fools by Peary Perry 03-25-09

Well, you have to give Barack Obama credit for one thing.

No other president that I know of in history has managed to screw up so much in such a short period of time. He is the champion.

Where to start?

How about his screw up with the teleprompter (you know that device he uses whenever his mouth moves) when the Irish Premier was in town. The Irish Premier got confused reading from the teleprompter and Obama stepped in to help out. Lots have been written about who said what and so forth. I suppose my question is simply this….when will we ever see Obama WITHOUT a teleprompter? Last nights news conference showed that he is obviously aware of the fact that everyone knows he is dependent on this device. Last night he moved (not very effectively) the teleprompter from a desk model to one about the size of a drive in movie screen at the back of the room….see http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2009/03/24/obama-ditches-teleprompter-for-drive-in-theater-movie-screen/

Anyone recall what he did to Gordon Brown (UK Prime Minister) when he was here a few weeks ago? Generally the two heads of state exchange gifts that have some meaning. Brown brought Obama a pen made from the wood of a ship that had historical meaning. Obama gave Brown 25 DVD’s of American movies. Wow…. is this significant or what? As if Brown could not afford to buy these for himself. A gift from Walmart. How touching. I’m certain old Gordon will hang onto those for years to come. What was the historical significance of DVD movies to one of our strongest allies? What about his removal of the statue of Churchill from the Oval office and its return to England? If he didn’t want it in his office, why not just put it somewhere else but not send it back as if was an abomination to him? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/22/obama-returns-churchill-b_n_168919.html

Quo Warranto: CItizen's Open Letter to Jeffrey Taylor

Following is my letter to US Attorney Jeffery Taylor.  I wrote this letter to encourage him to look into the legitimacy of Barack Obama's Right to occupy the Office of the President.

Here are a couple of links where you can get the background information on the Constitutional Precedent that enables Mr. Jeffery Taylor to demand that Mr. Obama provide a vault copy of his Birth Certificate.

I encourage each of you to write Mr. Taylor and express your desire to end the confusion surrounding Barack Hussain Obama.  Feel free to use my letter as template to write your own.  Remember to be polite and respectful, he is our Public Servant we are empowered as Citizens, to contact him and should do so with civility!

 Following is my letter:

United States Attorney Jeffery Taylor

US Attorney's Office

555 4th Street

Washington, DC 20530

Dear United States Attorney Jeffery Taylor :

As a citizen of the United States of America and person who deeply loves my country, I have a deep concern about a storm that is brewing within the ranks of our Military.  It has come to my attention that many members of our Armed Services are conflicted when it comes to the legitimacy of Mr. Barack Obama’s presidency.  The oath taken by each and every member of our Armed Forces includes the phrase “to uphold the Constitution and to obey the orders of the President of the United States of America”.

What a message from a Marine

From Paul Vallely, Standupamericausa.com

This Marine seems to hit all the salient points......

Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts state senate.

I'll be 63 soon. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce, and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth around" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.

GENTLEMAN / GUNS / EQUAL by Jim Murphy

Wednesday - March 11, 2009

Greetings from the West Texas Jingoistic Association For Gun Clinging Smear Merchants.

GENTLEMAN:

This week I received some sad news out of Hobbs, New Mexico. The father of one of my good friends passed away. The man's name was James Burton Veteto. The obituary did not give his age but I am sure he was in his mid - late eighties. I hear the term "Gentleman or Gentlemen" use quite a bit and I am sure that it fits with some and not with others. But I lived in Hobbs, New Mexico for 30 years and knew quite a few who deserved the title of "Gentleman". Mr. Veteto was certainly one of them. I was close with his son Mark who I try to see every time I return to Hobbs for a visit. Mr. Veteto always treated me with kindness and I know he was well respected in the community. He was a very successful businessman and I valued his opinion on most matters. I saw him often when I visited with another very good friend who was his neighbor. Every time I hear the term "Gentleman" used I try to think of all of the people with whom I was fortunate to come into contact, who happen to fit that description. Mr. James Burton Veteto is always one who comes to my mind. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family on this day.

EQUAL:

There was an article this week in our local newspaper, "The (Sub) Standard Times" [for those of you residing in the 'People's Republic of San Francisco, the (Sub) was my own addition]. This particular story dealt with an Iranian woman who now lives in Spain. This woman, in 2004, had acid thrown in her eyes causing her blindness in both eyes. Well the wonderful Islamic court system in Iran has ruled that the victim was entitled to blind the defendant, BUT she was only entitled to blind the man who had blinded her in only one eye. This is according to the Islamic law system of "quisas", or an eye-for-an-eye retribution. Because in Iran each man is worth two women she is only entitled to pour acid in one of his eyes. What a great system. Religion of Peace my backside. Every time I hear some politician sounding off about the Nation of Islam being a "Religion of Peace" I want to send them to one of those countries to live for a year or so and see if they come back with the same attitude.

What Rights Will Be Left? by Melissa Pehle-Hill

I keep hearing about the different attacks on our rights being perpetuated by the Obama Administration.  And the rights he seems set on stripping from us are the very ones that our Founding Fathers believed to be of utmost importance, evidenced by their placement as the First and Second Amendments.

Did not the First Amendment give us the right to speak our minds and the right to gather together to share ideas?  Does not the First Amendment protect your right to worship and the time and place of your choosing, or not if you prefer?  Doesn’t the First Amendment even guarantee the right of a free press as well?  I should think the media would cherish this Amendment first and foremost—at least if they like to speak other than that which is approved by the government.  What do they really think the Fairness Doctrine is about?  The government wanting to restrict speech that they disagree with is what the Obama Administration considers to be fair.  But to who is it fair?  Why should anyone consider a one sided argument fair?  My dad always told me not to make a decision with only one side of the story—so why would they expect the entire American populace to do exactly that?  Should my dad be in Washington as an advisor since none of their parents must have taught them this fundamental principle?  In the words of President Harry Truman, “Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.”

And then there’s the Second Amendment!  The right to keep and bear arms which springs from a very basic right to protect ourselves and our families.  Why would Obama’s administration want to attack our right to protect our families?  Thomas Jefferson said, “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”  Is that possibly what Obama and his cronies fear?  That the Americans they plan to break down as they destroy the economy for us and our children and take our rights one by one might rise up in protest?  If not, then what do they fear?

Don’t let them tell you they fear the high rate of crime here, or in Mexico, because with that answer they are either insulting our intelligence by thinking we would believe that off-the-mark response, or they truly are stupid enough to believe it themselves.  And if the latter is the correct one then we are in more trouble than any of us are prepared for!

Mexico Spirals Into Chaos by Paul Vallely

By: Paul E. Vallely
A Justice Department report by the National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC) says that Mexican drug gangs pose the biggest organized crime threat to the United States.

The report, the "National Drug Threat Assessment 2009," evaluates the threat posed by illegal drugs by examining availability, production and cultivation, transportation, distribution, and demand. State and local law enforcement agencies shared information for this report through personal interviews with the National Drug Intelligence Center.

Mexican drug trafficking organizations represent the greatest organized crime threat to the United States, says the report. They control drug distribution in most U.S. cities, and they are making strides in markets they do not yet control.

Letters From North America by Peary Perry 02-22-09

So much to write about, so little time.

What do we have time to focus on this week? The economy? Nope, that’s being talked to death. Corruption? Where can we start? Unqualified politicians? Not enough time.

How about taxes? That’s a good idea and one we can all identify with. It seems to me that about 200 and some odd years ago, we protested  taxation without representation. Having sat through last weeks vote on the stimulus bill which no one in Congress had the time to read…isn’t that what happened in front of our very eyes?

The bill, as I understand it, was about 1100 pages in length and came out of committee about fifteen hours before it was voted upon. Obviously no one in this country had a chance to read the thing in it’s entirety before it came up for a vote. So, how can anyone say that the bill was passed with any level of understanding and comprehension? They can’t. So how can any politician honestly tell us they are representing us in this largest of all tax bills?

I don’t think they can.  The current mentality seems to be something along the line of … “We must do something, even if it’s wrong.” I don’t agree. The free market will naturally correct itself, if left alone. People will buy and sell things when the prices for those things reach the correct level. Just because you buy a house does not mean that the house you bought is guaranteed to go up in value by 20% each and every year. This is foolish thinking and has gotten a lot of people into financial trouble. Once the housing market stabilizes and gets to the realistic true value of the properties, then the market will start to expand and grow once more. Pouring more money into it, does not solve the problem.

Stimulus / Stuff by Jim Murphy

WEDNESDAY - February 18, 2009

Hello once again from the West Texas Headquarters Of The Culture Of Corrupt Jingoist Smear Machines.

STIMULUS:

Let me get this out of the way first;  NO  I  HAVE  NOT  READ  THE  STIMULUS  BILL.  So that makes me at least even with the majority of the House of Representatives and the United States Senate.  None of them have read this idiotic piece of legislation either.  Oh, some of them probably read small parts but I'll wager that the only parts they read were those which dealt with their own particular district or state.

According to some of the information which I read, California was first with funding for 1971 projects;  Florida was second with funding for 1752 projects;  and Texas was third with funding for 1240 projects.  Now since I live in Texas I believe I have a right to sound off on the $10.7 BILLION Taxpayer Dollars earmarked for my state.

Leading the State of Texas in hog meat is the City of Dallas with nearly $1.3 BILLION;  Followed by San Antonio with $1.07 BILLION;  Followed by Austin with $1.03 BILLION and Houston with a paltry $588 MILLION in swine handouts.  Now I am not going to bore you with everything on which these funds are being spent but San Antonio has $10 MILLION earmarked for upgrading the Alamo Dome.  Now I am sure that the Alamo Dome probably could use some sprucing up but this is a stadium owned, I believe, by either The City of San Antonio or Bexar, County.  So why should taxpayer money from other parts of the state and nation be used to improve something which is owned by the government in that area?  Actually that doesn't gripe me as much as the  $18 MILLION earmarked in Austin for a boardwalk around "Lady Bird" Lake.  But I imagine that quite a bit of this so called "Stimulus Package" in every state is going to be blown on similar projects.

Be Silent No More. by Melissa Pehle-Hill

Are you like me in getting a chill down your spine every time you hear a news report open with “Barack Obama will…” or “Barack Obama hopes to…” or any number of other openings but you get the point?  Does your stomach drop and your heart stop when you hear the question, “Did you hear what Barack Obama did today?” for fear of what that something might be?

If you are, fear not, you are not alone.  There are many of us out here in this great nation who not only fear what Barack Obama will do, we dread the moment that he does and we fight the only way we can—through activism—in an attempt to stop at least some of the degradations this man plans to visit on America.  Some may call our attempts nothing more than dreaming and say that it is a vain attempt—and it may well be.  But when I meet my maker I would rather know that I tried, that I stood up for what is right, and honored the rights our Creator gave to us.  I would rather not be the one who looks Him in the eye and says “I was too busy to work for others” or “I wasn’t interested”.

So, I labor and I pray.  And I invite you to join me in the fight to save this country and the freedoms we enjoy for our children and our children’s grandchildren.

Don't Turn Your Back on Them! David Hill

As most of you know, I pay pretty close attention to the things our government chooses to do.  One of the things I pay the closest attention to is our 2nd Amendment Right, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.  Let me tell you folks, this new President scares the heck out of me.  During his campaign, he told the people (that’s us) that he would defend our 2nd Amendment Rights, but fewer than 100 hours after his Inauguration he announced his “Urban Policy” on his website.  His plan includes:
1.    Permanent Clinton-style gun bans.
2.    Repeal of the Tiahrt Amendment exposing sensitive, non-representative BATFE gun “trace” data for trial lawyers and anti-gun politicians.
3.    Restrictions making weekend gun shows as we know them – and private sales between law-abiding citizens – effectively illegal.

This is not “News”, the spike in firearms and ammunition sales to levels never before seen shows us the information is out there for those who choose to look for it.  What shocks me is the Virtual Media Blackout of this issue.  Even here in Texas the Media is failing to inform the citizens about issues important to our heritage.

Letters From North America by Peary Perry 02-10-09

I know you’re hoping that this week’s column will touch on subjects like the economy and the stimulus plan which seems to be taking over our lives. Alas, it is not to be. I have had enough news to last me for some time and those of you who are interested in the news will certainly glean more from your local paper or your television. Not from me.

No, this week I’m going to take on a couple of topics which haven’t been in the news as of late.

The first is border security and the second is expiration dates on milk cartons. I know they don’t relate, but I’m working here to get something down on paper and you’re reading so what the heck? Stay with me.

FOCA BO by Melissa Pehle-Hill

Now that we have a new President, and one that is well-known for supporting abortion, we truly need to keep watch on the happenings in Washington and remember what it come Election Day of 2010 and 2012.  That is, of course, if you are concerned with either the moral issues of killing unborn children or the reality that if abortion continues at this rate, eventually this country’s very existence could be in danger.  Like Russia, we could end up with problems of reduced population.  They had more people dying than being born and they got to the point they had enough concern that they were actually offering I believe around $5,000 to families if they had a second or third child.  Is that what we want for America?
Barack Obama, before winning the election, told Planned Parenthood, “The first thing I'd do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act.  That's the first thing I'd do.”  Now, what is the Freedom of Choice Act and how does it work?  Is this something we should be concerned about?
Well, the FOCA is a federal bill that would basically remove ALL restrictions from abortions in America.  Not only would it bequeath unlimited taxpayer-funded abortions on demand, it also includes these other changes:
*End parental notification or consent for abortions performed on minors
*Mandate taxpayer funding of abortion
*Allow abortions in military hospitals
*End waiting periods before having an abortion
*Overturn laws requiring informed consent prior to abortion
*Deny doctors the right to refuse to perform abortion for religious reasons
*Force religious affiliated hospitals and facilities to perform abortions
*Overturn many abortion clinic health regulations
*Overturn laws prohibiting abortion after the viability of the child
*Legalize partial-birth abortion

A Nation of Fools by Peary Perry 02-09-09

When I was in the army many years ago, we spent a lot of time trying to teach young soldiers how to perform close order drills. You could always count that one of the members of your platoon would be out of step. I can tell you that more than one once I heard one of my men tell me … “I’m not out of step….all of you are….”

Well, as Yogi Berra used to say… “It's deja vu all over again". This morning on one of the Sunday talk shows, Congressman Barney Frank was being asked why the American public had lost confidence in the United States Congress in view of all of the recent issues with tax cheats, lobby violations and other issues. Congressman Frank was quick to point out that “We didn’t just parachute in here, the voters sent us to Washington and (basically) it’s their fault for not holding us to a higher standard.”

Say What?

I don’t seem to recall single campaign advertisement in which some political wannabe makes a statement that he or she is going to steal, cheat or lie about their efforts once they reach public office. In fact, most of the advertisements I’ve seen say just the opposite.

Stimulus of Socialism? by Melissa Pehle-Hill

I keep hearing everyone complaining about the TARP bailout and the planned stimulus package put out by Obama.  What I’m not hearing enough is people bluntly saying that if any Representative or Senator who votes for both of these (or in my opinion even one of them), and against the millions of people who contacted them through email, phone, fax, and letters, need to be sent to the unemployment lines at our first opportunity.

Yes, that, my friends, is what needs to happen.  Nothing less will suffice as these people took an unprecedented step toward socialism against the express wishes of their constituents.  In so doing, they, in essence, told the people who put them in office that they will neither abide by the Constitution they swore to uphold nor by the wishes of those who voted for them.  Instead they are doing exactly what they want without a single thought to how it will affect the people of this generation and many generations to come.

Is that what we sent them to Washington to do?  Did we send them up there to represent us or did we send them there to do whatever they wanted like a bunch of college kids on their first year away from home?  I don’t think they care, but we must, and we have to hold them accountable for an action such as this.

The Time Is Now! by Melissa Pehle-Hill

I constantly hear people say they had to hold their nose and vote for McCain or that they couldn’t make themselves vote for McCain because he was too liberal for them resulting in Obama in the White House.  The fault for this lies in the hands of the hierarchy of the Republican Party but also in the hands of the people.
Part of the problem is that the Republican Party lets anyone run under their banner who wishes to—they don’t have to stand with the Platform—which the Party needs to change.  But, another part of the problem is that many people either didn’t vote in the primary or they followed the advice of Rush Limbaugh and crossed over.  Myself I can’t understand anyone choosing to do either.  I say that because to me voting in the primary means I get my say in who represents the Republican Party in the general election.  The other reason I can’t see it is that to me this is not a game we are out to win—this is all about who represents us in Washington and to me that determination should be made based on each individual candidate’s ability to do the job the way we the people want then to.
So, now that the election is behind us and we have the most liberal/socialist leaning President we could have found, we must learn from this.  Over the next four years those of us who wish to save this country from irreparable damage but work constantly to keep up with what is going on in Washington.  We must keep calling, emailing, and writing letters to our elected representatives and tell them what we want them to do, and then in 2010 we must hold them accountable by sending them home if they don’t do the job we want them to do.

America Land of the Free? by Melissa Pehle-Hill

I find myself seriously concerned about the future state of this country and the few freedoms we have left being taken from us.  This is not an empty concern as many of you might think and let me tell you why.
Have you ever thought about the fact that so much of what many Americans consider to be rights either require a license or a permit or some other form of government involvement?  For example, if you want to hunt you must have a hunting license, to fish you need a license, to drive or even to get married you need a license.  You need a permit to meet with a group of others in a public place, and often the permit has to be approved.  If it is your right to hunt or fish to feed your family why does the government feel the need to make you buy a license?  If it is your right to drive a car or get married why do you have to pay the government for the privilege?  How does the government being this deeply involved in your life make you free?  It doesn’t as is obvious when you realize that the word license means “formal permission from a governmental or other constituted authority to do something”.  Therefore, the government has given itself the power to deny you the right to hunt, fish, marry, and drive along with so many other things which are your rights endowed by your Creator and by the Constitution.

Our Second Amendment Rights Under Attack Again by Melissa Pehle-Hill

Here I sit addressing the actions of the liberals in Washington and their desire to remove our right to bear arms and protect ourselves and our families.  I knew, on Election Night, that this was coming but I have to say I’m surprised it came so soon.  I honestly thought they would wait six months or so and try to slip it past us.
I also received an email yesterday with a link to watch a U-Tube video about protests going on in the UK.  Guess what the video said!  They said that first they let the government take their guns because they thought it might actually reduce crime, and they soon realized that it had the opposite effect as the law-abiding citizens had turned over their guns and the criminals then knew they were unarmed.  That wasn’t what the protests were about—they were about the government’s desire to end fox hunting.

Dem's Already Attacking The 2nd Ammendment

It didn't take take the Dem's long to show their true color. YELLOW  The cowards are already attacking the 2nd Amendment.  President "O" is not even in office yet and HR-45 is set to be presented.  HR-45 intends to require massive licensing for owners of almost every gun.  I believe they left the BB Gun off the list but it will probably be in the final draft.  Read the WND story on it:

Here is another piece of information all of our 2nd Amendment supporters need to read.

Pay close attention to highlighted area on page 2

1. Gun-ban list proposed

Slipping below the radar (or under the short-term memory cap), the Democrats have already leaked a gun-ban list, even under the Bush administration when they knew full well it had no chance of passage (HR 1022, 110th Congress). It serves as a framework for the new list the Brady’s plan to introduce shortly.

I have an outline of the Brady’s current plans and targets of opportunity; we’re working on getting that news out ASAP after these ban lists and will probably be ready in the next few days. It’s horrific. They’re going after the courts, regulatory agencies, firearms dealers and statutes in an all out effort to restrict We The People. They’ve made little mention of criminals.

Letters From North America by Peary Perry 01-12-09

It seems to me that just about all of the instructions you need to get through life can be found in the bible. Perhaps I’m crazy but I think that somewhere in there it says that we would be better off teaching a man to fish than feeding him a fish for one day. This might be in the book of Hesitations, but I can’t be sure.

Anyway, I’m certain that the lesson is in there somewhere, even if I have gotten it all wrong so far. The point is that we are all better off teaching others to take care of themselves rather than giving them a hand out day after day, year after year.

So, how did I arrive at this topic for this week? Easy, the birds. You remember that movie that Hitchcock put out years ago? Well, that’s the scene at our house. We are overloaded with doves. The majestic birds of peace.

And the majestic birds of poop.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not happy with the way things went during this election.  And on that I’m not just referring to the results but also many of candidates running for the various offices.

Here, on the county level, it was better.  Most of those running for office were no more or less than they portrayed themselves to be.  A few of them you could just meet and know, without a doubt in your mind, how much this county and the people within it mean to them—men like Ray Nutt and Scott McKee who will, I honestly believe, as Sheriff and District Attorney, do much to make this county a safer place to live.

However on the state and national level, many of the candidates running were less than satisfactory in my opinion.  We don’t need any more politicians who are working for the special interest groups, the big corporations, the drug companies, foreign oil (or any foreign interests for that matter), or for anyone other than we, the people.  We need more people like Congressman Louie Gohmert, Congressman Leo Berman, Congressman Duncan Hunter, and our own Congressman Jeb Hensarling.  We don’t need anymore candidates to seek to be elected out of their desire for the perks and power, with the only campaign promises they intend to fulfill being the ones made behind closed doors to their biggest supporters and special interest groups.

What we need to do is demand that our elected officials do the job we hired them to do.  We need to demand that the candidates chosen to run are worthy of the position they are seeking rather than simply continuing to hold our nose while we vote.

Our votes are more valuable than that.  Our votes are what decide the kind of country we leave our children and grandchildren.  And I, for one, want the best for my children and grandchildren as I’m sure you do as well.

How do we do this?  We watch what our elected officials are doing, closely.  We let them know what we want them to do.  We seek out people of honor and integrity to run for office and help them get in office.  Then we pray: for without God we have no hope of maintaining the United States as the greatest nation in the world, nor Texas as the greatest state in the nation.

Governors Just Say “No!” To State Bailouts

Americans For Prosperity Supports Texas and South Carolina Governors For Defending Taxpayers In Bailout Vote

AUSTIN─ In a political culture that rewards fiscal irresponsibility, Americans for Prosperity-Texas praises Texas Gov. Rick Perry and South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford for standing for taxpayers and opposing federal bailouts for state governments.

“Americans for Prosperity is grateful for these leaders taking a strong stand against state bailouts,” said Peggy Venable, AFP-Texas state director. “It is shocking that federal tax dollars from Texans could be directed to states facing bankruptcy because of their own irresponsible fiscal policies.”

“ Texas leaders have exercised fiscal responsibility,” said Venable, “and we are entering this coming session with an $11 billion budget surplus thanks to taxpayer and job-friendly  government policies.”

“Texans should not be expected to send their tax dollars to any other state, let alone one that continuously hurts its own economy through heavy taxation and irresponsible spending practices,” Venable said.  “Government bailouts and irresponsible government spending are leaving our children a legacy of debt.”

While I Was Hunting This Morning... D. Hill

This morning while I was sitting in my deer stand, I began thinking about our future as Americans.  We are entering a transitional period as one president prepares to leave office while a new one prepares to lead the nation for the next four years.  I must admit that I never thought the American people would elect a Socialist president but apparently I was wrong. I am not sure the American people are ready for what is coming down the road.

One of the things our next president is in favor of is limiting our Second Amendment Right to bear arms.  As an avid hunter, this disturbs me a great deal.  How long will I be able to enjoy the simple pleasure of a morning hunt or for that matter, an afternoon target shooting?  From what I understand our next president plans to place huge taxes on the ammunition we buy, I am not talking about a 10 to 20 percent tax hike but a tax as high as 300 to 500 percent.  On top of this oppressive tax on ammunition, he plans to remove many of the guns now available from the market.  Mark my word folks, this attack on our Constitutional Rights will begin shortly after January 20th 2009 when Mr. Obama takes control.

If you are one of those who enjoy hunting or target shooting, be prepared to voice your opinion when the changes start happening.  The only thing that can stop this removal of our Constitutional Rights will be the voice of people like you and me. I will be one of those people screaming at the top of my lungs when this happens and I hope to find you screaming along side of me.

Feeling The Pain by Bill Ryan

November 10, 2008

Bill Ryan

We have somehow gotten to the idea that life is supposed to be painless, and when the unpredictable throws a rock or two, or a boulder, in our path someone, other than ourselves, is supposed to remove the obstacle and smooth the path.

Over the past 75 years of so, that someone has been the government.

President-elect Obama, as did President Bush, wants to help the America through the current difficult economic times, but is that appropriate considering the natural fluctuations of the market place?  Such aid is described as “compassionate” and “needed,” and has been provided before, but is that the role of government, and does it in fact help, prolong, or actually do more harm than good?

Scholarly analysis of the New Deal programs has determined that many, if not all of the efforts to correct the market actually exacerbated the financial malaise, thus extending both the impact and the duration of the depression.  In addition, not often mentioned in history books, is that the government actually punished certain segments of the population, like black southern farmers, by their market management policies.  In summary, the depression would have ended sooner and with less financial disruption had FDR just let the market work.

To the American Patriot from David Hill

For the true American Patriot, the results of this election are nothing to celebrate.  The election of Barack Hussein Obama may very well mark the end of the Greatest Nation our planet has ever witnessed.  I am not saying this because he is black but because of his position or lack of position on many of the most important issues we as Americans face.  One of the issues our future President is against is our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.  Since the inception of this great nation, the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms has protected and fed our families.  In this modern age, the right to bear arms is as important as it was 200 years ago but now we depend on this right more to protect our families than to feed them.  If the economic situation follows the path it is currently on, the need to protect our family will increase as the fire of the failing economy is fueled by Democratic Social manipulation in the form of programs designed to take from those who are successful and give to those who are not. Desperation leads to violence and violence must be countered with force.  Our 2nd Amendment insures that we as individuals have the ability to defend ourselves against violence directed at us.  Following are 4 statements by our Founding Fathers.

A Nation of Fools by Peary Perry 10-29-08

Over thirty years ago, I took part in a security training program outside of Washington, D.C. During the ten days or so that I was there, I met a number of federal agents who told me a number of stories, most of which would verge on the brink of unbelievable. One of these stories concerned President Kennedy and a decision he was said to have made one evening while sailing around D.C. on the Presidential yacht. According to one of the agents, President Kennedy had consulted with a number of his closest friends and had decided to leak our atomic secrets to the Soviets so there would be a mutual respect for each other and, in his opinion, reduce the threat of a nuclear war.

Now, in all honesty, I have no clue as to the truthfulness of this statement, but at the same time I have no reason to think the men telling me this were lying to me. I just don’t know.

What I do know is this, last week; someone who reads my columns sent me an e-mail and advised me to order a book called “Keynes at Harvard”. I found it on Amazon and must admit to you it is one of those books you will find hard to put down once you get started.

It is a handbook on socialism in this country. It was written in 1960.

The book explains how an economist named John Maynard Keynes got his socialist theories to be the order of the day at Harvard University. George Will (columnist and commentator) recently wrote “There are more Marxists in the Harvard faculty than there are in all of Europe.” The book goes on to state that the center point of the socialistic movement was the law school at Harvard.

Socialist, Math, Acorn by Jim Murphy

Wednesday - October 28,  2008

Greetings from the West Texas Regional Chapter of Vast Right Wing Conspiratorial Gun Clinging Sons of Jingoism.

Let me begin by voicing my opinion of the media coverage of the election up to this point.  ENOUGH!  If I hear the terms "Battleground State" or "Swing State" another time, I fear for anyone within my reach (family and friends excluded).  These are a couple of terms which have been completely over used by the media mutts.  Doesn't it make sense that ALL  STATES are in fact "Battleground States"?  If so, then doesn't it also make sense that if all the votes have been cast; and most of the results from the majority of the states are known;  and neither candidate has a clear victory at hand;  and  neither has enough electoral votes to claim victory; wouldn't it be possible for several or perhaps all of the remaining states to be "Swing States"?  Now for those of you residing in the "People's Republic of San Francisco" the remaining states would be able to "Swing" the election toward one particular candidate.  Ah, but not so.  Our idiot mainstream media, no, let me rephrase that, ALL  OF  OUR  MEDIA have already decided which states are "Swing States" just as they have decided which states are "Battleground States."  Just as they have decided who should be our next President.

So if the thought of the news media, and particularly the far left socialist leaning mainstream media, choosing our next President doesn't bother you then read no further.  The brutal truth is that NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine and several more, are all in the tank for Barack Hussein Obama and have all attempted to do a real hatchet job on Sarah Palin.  Have they succeeded?  We will find out next Tuesday.

I believe it was yesterday when I had my TV on FOX News and it was in the time slot in the afternoon when Shepard Smith was hosting the program.  He had a telephone interview with Joe Wurzelbacher (to clarify this for the Freedom Loving Residents of the Socialist Workers State of Massachusetts, this would be Joe the Plumber").  Let me say at this point that I know several good people who live in the State of Massachusetts, however the majority of the voters in that state have chosen "Fat Teddy", John Kerry, and Barney Frank as elected officials so the sanity of the majority of the Massachusetts voters is definitely in question.

Tracking the Bailout ~ Transparency? D. Hill

As most of my regular readers know, I was dead set against the Bailout of our Financial Institutions.  I also firmly believe that this was a major step towards Socialism.  Regardless of my feelings or the feelings of most of the citizens of the United States, our government went ahead and instituted the 700 Billion dollar move towards Socialism.  One of the things they (our government) promised was transparency.  Well, let's talk about this for a minute.

I found an article today that talks about the first of many "Deals" stemming from this Bailout.  As I expected, the details are kept secret.  I was under the impression that Transparency meant we would be able to see what was happening as the "Deals" were struck.  Apparently, I was wrong, the dictionary I use must be different from the one they use. Go Figure!

I found a website dedicated to watching the money set aside by the Bailout Legislation. www.bailoutsleuth.com   Here is the beginning of the article I mentioned at the beginning:

The Treasury Department has hired two big accounting firms to help keep tabs on the government's financial-industry rescue program, and once again certain basic elements of the deals are shrouded in secrecy.

Steven J. Allen's definition of a conservative

I found this definition of "Conservative" on Richard Vaquerie's Conservative HQ.  I found it to be one of the best descriptions of the subject that I have seen.  I am posting it in its entirety although I take no credit for it.  This post came from:  http://conservativehq.com/conservatism-101/sja-definition-of-conservative/

I am often asked what I mean by “a conservative.”

It's difficult to define membership in a group that makes up over half the adult population of the United States.  But here's my best effort.

* A conservative believes in the motto quoted by Henry David Thoreau, “That government is best which governs least.” A conservative's vision of government was put forth by Thomas Jefferson: “a wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another [and] shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement.”

A Nation of Fools by Peary Perry 10-23-08

In November of 1989, I was in Germany when the Berlin Wall started to come down. My friend and I drove to the border where we could see East Germany. Parts of the wall were already destroyed and I brought back two bricks. Later that evening, my friend took me to dinner at his parents’ house where I met his sister and brother-in-law. His brother worked for Volkswagen in Germany and seemed a affable sort of fellow. During the dinner, the conversation turned to politics and it was apparent very early that he believed in a socialistic society. His concept was that no one should earn or receive more than 3,500 marks (before the Euro) per month, no matter what their job was or what they did for a living.

Having been in business for myself virtually all of my adult life, I took exception to this idea and told him it would destroy the concept of entrepreneurialism in any economy. He strongly disagreed and said that his plan would give everyone the same advantages and would be fair to all. This would eliminate class distinctions.

Then I asked him if he thought it would be fair for someone, like a doctor to have gone to school for eight or ten years or a attorney, should they be limited to only 3,500 marks per month as well?

“Yes, they should” was his answer and he was sincere.

Then I asked why anyone would want to go to school, or work twelve and fifteen hours a day to get a business up and going if their income was going to be the same as someone who didn’t have an education or who didn’t want to work. Who would want to do this?

He said that everyone would want to do so. If you had a good work ethic, then you wouldn’t mind working harder so that others could have a better lifestyle. It was your patriotic duty to do so.

I sat there in amazement at one of the most absurd things I have heard come out of anyone’s mouth in all of my years. The sad thing was he wasn’t kidding. He was dead serious.

Muttha / Joe / Mort by Jim Murphy

Hello once again from the West Texas Association For Gun Clinging Conspiratorial Jingoistic Right Wing Fed Up People.

Let me begin this week with a few quick words about Congressman Jack Murtha.  FIRST  CLASS  MUTT.  What made it really great was the fact that after he called the people in his Pennsylvania district racists, he returned to the camera and in a manner which only a liberal idiot could do, took back the racist comment and replaced it with "redneck".   Way to go Jack.  If stupidity were a country, you would be like Russia.

This past week we have all been subjected to various news stories about "Joe The Plumber".   Aren't we fortunate that we have media outlets like NBC and several others to point out some really interesting facts about "Joe The Plumber".  First we were made aware that his first name really isn't Joe.   Then after some really outstanding investigative journalism techniques, we were made aware of the shocking fact that "Joe The Plumber" did NOT have a plumbing license.  Boy those two facts were really Biblical in nature, weren't they?  Now not only did the usual suspect liberal news sources harp on this until I was about ready to burst into flames, but FOX News crack reporter Shepard Smith saw fit to also make us aware of these two shocking facts.  As a matter of fact, I found Shepard Smith's reporting of this to be really more obnoxious than the regular mainstream.  Smith was snotty and condescending and even made the statement that since "Joe The Plumber" did not possess a plumbing license that perhaps he should be referred to as: "Joe, the guy who works on the pipes."  I am sure that Shep thought he had hit a home run in the humor area but I thought he had shown his true colors, which were those of an arrogant turd.

A Nation of Fools by Peary Perry 10-16-08

You can stick a fork in me, I’m done. I cannot watch any more of the election news or reporting this year. I am fed up and will spend the rest of this month quietly reading a good book in some dark room of my house.

In my opinion, if you have not made up your mind as to who you want to vote for in the upcoming Presidential election, you must have either (1) been held in solitary confinement in a prison or (2) in the far off reaches of outer space or (3) you are too dumb to participate in the electoral process.

Up until last night I had fairly high hopes for our party in this country to pull it off and show the fundamental differences between liberal and conservative philosophy. But, alas it was not to be and last nights display showed me (along with many others) that in spite of months of rhetoric and name calling, it is still them… (Congressmen) and us.

Is America Ready to Fight the Next War?

IS AMERICA PREPARED TO FIGHT THE NEXT WAR

B/G General Jimmy Cash USAF Retired

In 1980, the F-15A was the newest, most technically advanced, air-to-air fighter in the United States Air Force inventory, and I was honored to be one of the first F-15 Squadron Commanders.  Located at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, I commanded the 94th Tactical Fighter Squadron, which normally consisted of 26 aircraft and 30 of the most highly trained pilots in America.  At $33M per copy, the F-15 was the most expensive fighter of the day, and it was designed to give the US a clear advantage over any adversary for many years in the future.

When Jimmy Carter became President, procurement of the F-15 continued, but spare parts procurement came to a standstill.  As happens with Democratic Presidents, money was diverted from the military and used to increase social programs, that in retrospect served little value to the nation.

Over a two year period from 1979 to 1981, there was not a single day that my fully-mission-capable (FMC) rate was higher than 33 percent.  In a nutshell, over two-thirds of my 26 F-15s were always broken, because of a lack of spare parts.  It amazed me at how hard our maintenance personnel worked to keep those few airplanes flying. They constantly cannibalized parts from other aircraft, which doubled maintenance time.  Later we found we were breaking over half of the parts cannibalized.  It was a vicious cycle that drove our forces to the ground.  We had no capability during that period, and the buck stopped at the President’s desk, Jimmy Carter.

Little did I know at the time, that the entire U.S. military was in basically the same condition.  We could not train effectively, as the equipment was broken.  There is a clear bottom line to the story.  The Tactical Air Command accident rate for fighter aircraft went from approximately 1.75 accidents per 100,000 flying hours to just under seven, because of the loss of flying proficiency of the pilots.  Our military was not capable of defending this great nation from a viable threat, and fortunately that threat did not appear during this time frame.  However, we were losing aircraft and young aircrew members at a rate normally seen only in actual combat.

The Financial Crisis -- A Story of Institutional Arrogance and Corruption

M-A-S Readers,
I received this in an email and even though I do not know the author, I decided to post it.  I hope to contact Robb and ask him to be a regular contributor to our blog.
David A Hill

THIS INSIGHTFUL ANALYSIS WAS WRITTEN BY MY NEPHEW  HE IS  INVOLVED WITH TERRORISM, AND HAS TRAVELLED ALL OVER THE WORLD INCLUDING SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE MIDDLE EAST INCLUDING IRAC.  HE HAS ALSO SPENT A LOT OF TIME IN WASHINGTON, AND WAS AN AID TO A NEBRASKA CONGRESSMAN. HE HAS A B.S. DEGREE (WITH HIGHEST DISTINCTION) FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA AND AN MBA (ACCOUNTING) FROM ARIZONA STATE.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM (ALWAYS HAVE BEEN) VERY PROUD OF THIS FINE YOUNG MAN.

RON

All,

I started thinking more about this when some of you asked me about it; I presume because of my undergrad in Economics degree and my experience on Capitol Hill.  I promised you I would do some research before I could make an informed opinion.  I am writing this for you, my friends, to share with you some of the stunning things I found upon research.  Feel free to share these thoughts with anyone you know, and be certain that any comments on possible criminal activity is based on my impression of what I obtained from public information.
The big question everyone will ask is, who's to blame?  There is blame to go around for everyone.  The very short answer is that the housing boom, combined with proponents of lower income loans (largely Democrats) lit the fire.   The fire was fanned by poor decision making by financial institutions and field by corruption.  The Republicans and the current administration are guilty of continuing the champion some of the policies that started this storm and share some responsibility for not championing action sooner.  And the Fed bears some responsibility for not foreseeing the downside of its super low interest rates.
And the Senate and House banking committees were not only negligent in their duties of oversight, but perhaps were so due to their own criminally profiteering from this situation.

BI-PARTISAN/DEBATE/REACH by Jim Murphy

Wednesday - October 8, 2008

A pretty hot welcome from the West Texas Branch of Vast Right Wing Conspiratorial Gun Clingers.

Last night I tried to watch the John McCain -  Barack Hussein Obama debate.  I found it to be incredibly dull and really without a whole bunch of substance.  As you might have guessed, I am NOT an UNDECIDED voter.  At this late stage of the game, if an individual is UNDECIDED then he or she, as the case may be, is in dire need of an intelligence transfusion.  While attempting to get excited about this debate, all the time knowing full well that The Missouri Breaks was showing  on the Western Channel, all I heard was pretty much the same old stuff.

There is no doubt in my mind that John McCain is light years ahead of the ultra liberal Senator from Chicago.  While John McCain did point a few well deserved fingers at Obama, I personally thought he spent way too much time telling us about his ability to "Reach across the aisle" and work with Democrat/Socialist Senators naming "Fat Teddy"(this would be Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy);   Russ Feingold; and a couple of other far left loons.  Every time I hear the term "Reach Across The Aisle" I can't help but think of the reasons given to "Reach Across The Aisle".  The only valid reason I can come up with to "Reach Across The Aisle", particularly to reach Fat Teddy or Russ Feingold, would be to choke the crap out of them both.

But we all know that what today's politicians mean by "Reaching Across The Aisle" is to work in a "BI-PARTISAN" manner with a bunch of socialists who have absolutely no intention of giving in to any conservative thought or suggestion.  I have had about enough of bi-partisan behavior.  I am about ready for so called conservative politicians to just stand up for what is right.  Stop giving in to these far left leaning bozos.  Remember, giving in is EASY.  Standing up for what is right is HARD.  These people are not elected to take the easy way out.

Bailout, Fiscal Responsibility, & Henderson County David Hill

Unless you live in a proverbial cave and pay absolutely no attention to the news, you are aware that our All Knowing Government has thrown out the Constitution and the Free Market System it created and chose to throw 700 billion dollars away buying trash loans in an attempt to SAVE our Economy.  As you might guess, I am not happy at all with this decision.  Here are a few of the parasite attachments that were included in this sell out of our Freedom.
Sec. 211. Transportation fringe benefit to bicycle commuters
Sec. 308. Increase in limit on cover over of rum excise tax to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Sec. 309. Extension of economic development credit for American Samoa.
Sec. 312. Deduction allowable with respect to income attributable to domestic production activities in Puerto Rico.
Sec. 317. Seven-year cost recovery period for a motorsports racing track facility.
Sec. 322. Tax incentives for investment in the District of Columbia.
Sec. 325. Extension and modification of duty suspension on wool products; wool research fund; wool duty refunds.
Correct me if I am wrong but I do not see where any of these provisions help our current financial crisis. Furthermore, they are examples of what got us in this situation in the first place.  Wake up folks! I am a good ol’ boy from East Texas and I know what a Stock Yard smells like, and this stinks worse than that.

Healthcare and Election 08 MP Hill

I have looked at the choices of the Health Care plans suggested by Senator McCain and Senator Obama.  At the end of looking into them I am struck by one significant difference which I find alarming and unacceptable—“government sponsored” being part of Obama’s plan.

Who really thinks that anything run by the government is better for the people?  I don’t and no one else should either.  In the words of President Reagan, “Man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”  He also said, “Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.”

You see, Obama says that his health care plan is not mandatory but if you had been listening to him during the debates you would know that is temporary.  He wants it to eventually cover everyone and for that to work he would have to make it mandatory.  He also wants employers to offer insurance to their employees.  If he makes that mandatory how many people do you think employers will have to terminate in order to cover the additional cost of insurance?  And what if you are one of them?

Granted McCain’s plan may not be perfect but is there is no perfect way to solve a problem that is so far out of control, but more government intervention and higher taxes certainly won’t do any good for anyone, especially when it results in more people out of work and on government entitlement programs.

I'm Proud to be a Texas, Are You? MP Hill

With so much attention presently going to the Presidential race many others have been overlooked, by the media, and in the minds of some Americans as well, I fear.  However, we can’t afford to overlook these other races for they could well help to determine the fate of this country, regardless of who is elected President.

One of the races I’m speaking of is the race for our US Senator.  Presently that job is held by John Cornyn and his opponent is Rick Noriega.

First let me say that I know for sure that John Cornyn is proud of the great state that he represents, as are so very many of his constituents.  However, Rick Noriega, while at the Democratic National Convention in Denver said, “Being a Texan today means always having to say you’re sorry.”  I don’t know about you but that offends me immensely.  I get it that he was at the Democratic Convention where hating President Bush is the thing to do, but does that give him just cause to say something such as that.  Do you as a Texan feel the need to apologize for being from Texas, whether you agree or don’t agree with President Bush?  I know I don’t and I don’t agree with much of what President Bush has, and is doing here lately.  That doesn’t detract from my love for my state or my pride in being a Texan. If Rick Noriega feels compelled to apologize for being from Texas do you honestly think he would stand up and fight for the interests of Americans while in Washington or would he more likely just go along with the rest of those in his party, sympathetically (to them) agreeing with whatever drivel they come up with.

You know what I mean by drivel, right?  Things like amnesty for illegals, which John Cornyn adamantly opposes.  Or how about partial birth abortion which most Americans consider an atrocity except those Democrats who hold office in Washington—the very ones Noriega was apologizing to. Once again John Cornyn stood firmly against this barbaric practice.  Then there is the issue of higher taxes, which Senator Cornyn opposes, but the Democrats hold dear.  Do you really want your Senator voting to raise your taxes?

N.O.W Does Not Speak For Me. MP Hill

I read today that a supposed women’s group called NOW (National Organization for Women) says they are endorsing Obama/Biden because of Biden’s long-time support for women’s rights.  They cited his pro-choice stance among others.  I’ll admit that he did a great thing with the bill Violence Against Women Act but what about him voting against making it a crime for someone to harm or kill an unborn baby while committing a crime against the mother?  Doesn’t a woman have the right to have her unborn baby protected by the law when she wants her baby?  Or is that just an aspect they wish to overlook?

And, while we are at it, let’s look at the real abortion part of this issue.  It’s not really that he supports choice, it’s that he supports abortion that they like, although Biden draws the line at supporting Partial Birth Abortions like his running mate, he does support abortions.  However he also voted against a parent’s right to be notified if their minor child wants an abortion and he voted against making it a crime for someone to take their minor child across state lines to obtain an abortion where parental notification isn’t required.  However, am I missing something on this?  Isn’t it considered kidnapping if someone takes your minor child across state lines without parental consent?  Unless, I guess, if it is solely for the purpose of killing their unborn baby then it isn’t kidnapping, just aiding a minor in avoiding following the laws of the state where they live.

Of course, although Biden is all for abortion he voted against a bill to ban human cloning.  What is that all about?  How many people in this country are even okay with cloning animals?  And yet he thinks it’s perfectly fine to clone humans.  Something to think about I’d say.

What Is Really Wrong With This Whole Mess? MP Hill

While watching the four o’clock news on CBS today a story caught my attention.  And it is one that we, as a people need to work to address.

I watched as they interviewed some evacuees from Beaumont who are staying in a hotel in Dallas and had just found out that the hotel they are staying in are not working with FEMA.  In other words, the people are responsible for their own bill and will have to wait for FEMA to reimburse them later on.  I understand their anxiety and concern over the devastation that might be waiting for them back at home and over the cost incurred by their having to flee home.  Whether FEMA will reimburse the money or not is likely another consideration on their minds, and yet another understandable one considering we kept hearing how long people had to wait to get help after Hurricane Kattrina due to the debt level of our government.  My sympathy and prayers go to these people along with the hopes that these people actually have something left when they return home.

This country right now is going further and further into debt, and I’m not referring to the debt incurred by the war to protect our citizens.  I’m talking about our government spending billions of our tax dollars taking care of illegal aliens against the wishes of the American people.  The problem those evacuees are facing with FEMA isn’t just a matter of time, it is also a matter of FEMA having the money for them—the American citizens, not the illegals who will also probably be helped by FEMA rather than simply turned over to ICE for deportation.

Is anyone else as sick and tired of the illegals acting as though Texas is still part of Mexico, flying their flags, celebrating Mexican Independence, and going to our government for handouts that we pay for while they continue to show disdain for our laws?  If so, I hope you’ll join me in writing your state and federal legislatures and tell them we have had enough.  Tell them it is time to send them back where they came from and stop rewarding them with our money or we will start rewarding those same legislatures with jobs.

No Dollars For Davis. MP Hiill

I read in today’s paper, Thursday, Sept. 4, that the County Commissioners voted to grant Clint Davis the additional $25,000 pay he wanted. Although two of our commissioners voted no the measure passed. No offense to Clint Davis, but why should he get more money than James Owen after Mr. Owen has served in that position for two terms? Does he have years of experience we don’t know about? After all, he has been a civil attorney for years but up to now hasn’t worked on criminal cases. So, in essence he will be getting on the job training, at a higher rate of pay than our experienced County Attorney who is leaving office. Granted, at this time Clint Davis is working in the District Attorney’s Office though I have not heard of him trying any cases in court. So, at present he is already getting at least some level of training at the taxpayer’s expense. However, I honestly don’t think that six months of training working for a District Attorney which the people of this county loudly said wasn’t doing her job is sufficient to merit him getting $25,000 more than our present CA. On another related matter, I read a complaint from a woman saying that it was wrong for our future District Attorney to ask for an investigator and a warrant officer to be transferred from the Sheriff’s Office to the District Attorney’s office. That will raise his budget while at the same time removing those two expenses from the Sheriff’s budget, and it will aid Scott McKee in better prosecuting cases in this county. As it is in essence a transfer from one department to another it doesn’t raise expenses for the taxpayer like the higher wages for Clint Davis is going to do. So, the outrage should be over the additional county funds being paid to an untried County Attorney rather than to a man who is already planning his strategy to clean up this county and remove the criminals from our streets.

Where Will They Draw The Line. MP Hill

This morning I received a call from a friend of mine, Vera Wolot, telling me about the attack on Governor Sarah Palin perpetrated by Us Magazine and an idea she had that we should go out and buy the copies up and then return them later on, keeping these personal attacks from being spread throughout our community.  After speaking with her in length, we both agreed that this is something we should do all across this great nation.
It isn’t like we would be stopping people from being able to find out what is going on in this country.  After all, what is wrong about attempting to protect a young girl from further public embarrassment?  It’s not as though she is getting an abortion in an attempt to hide what she did or escape the consequences of her actions as have many adults, especially in the political spectrum.  It’s not as though the whole country doesn’t already know that Sarah Palin’s 17year old daughter is pregnant and not yet married.  What this edition of US News is, rather, is a left wing attack on a minor and her mother simply because her mother is on the Republican Presidential ticket.

The Best Of What We Are. MP Hill

Not that long ago I wrote that I would love to see a woman in office but she should be the best of what we are.  I also recently wrote that we should search out people in this country to hold office and represent us as a people in public office.  Now, I feel the need to expand on my meaning of these things.
What did I mean by the best of what we are?  I know that isn’t something that is easy to picture in your mind, especially when talking about the majority of politicians who run for office in this day and age.  So, let me explain my meaning when I said that.
By the best of what we are I mean people like the NY Firemen who rushed into the Towers as they were burning and about to collapse in order to save as many lives as they could, and the policemen who rushed in with them.  There are others, too many to mention in such specific fashion but you know who they are.

We The People Need To Choose. MP Hill

I keep hearing people say they are unhappy with the choices we have running for public office this year.  The internet is saturated with members of both parties who are angry with the candidates we have to choose from.  Continually coming in contact with this type of opinions, as well as my own agreement with this position on some levels (more on that in another article) caused me to think about what we, the people, could do to fix it.
Then as I was sitting here it just came to me.  The problem we now have is that the potential candidates are not people who we have sought out to run for office.  We, the people, had no say in the selection process of our candidates—they were ‘vetted’ by the hierarchy of the parties and the members of the media—leaving us feeling unsatisfied deep down.
Of course, you are probably nodding your head in agreement as you already knew that—you might even be wondering why it took me so long to get it, right?
